BJT Pro (Shinko Jiryuchi — BJT Business Japanese Learning Platform)
1. Information We Collect
To provide our Business Japanese learning service, BJT Pro collects the following:
- Account information: your email address (used for one-time-password login, OTP).
- Learning data: your exercise records, answer correctness, learning progress, mistake collection, reference scores, and practice records across keigo / patto / study / mogi modules.
- Payment information: when you purchase a membership, payment is handled by third-party payment providers (Google Play Billing within the app; a third-party payment service on the website). We do not store your full payment credentials such as credit card numbers — only your purchase status and membership validity period.
- Technical and analytics information: to keep the service running and to understand how it is used, we collect device type, browser, operating system, language settings, IP address and the approximate location inferred from it (e.g. country/region), referral source, search keywords, pages visited and time spent, and access logs. This data is used for statistical analysis, product improvement, and troubleshooting, generally in aggregated/anonymized form.
2. How We Use This Information
- To provide and maintain the learning service (saving progress, generating reference scores, personalized review)
- To verify identity and enable login (OTP)
- To process membership purchases and renewals
- To improve the product, troubleshoot, and prevent abuse
- To contact you via your email: including one-time login codes, important service-related notices, and replies to your inquiries. You may unsubscribe from marketing/event emails at any time; however, essential service emails such as login codes and transaction confirmations are not subject to unsubscribe.
3. Information Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only in the following cases:
- Payment providers (Google Play Billing in-app / third-party payment service on the website): as necessary to process transactions.
- Analytics provider (Google Analytics): we use Google Analytics to understand traffic sources, user behavior, and service usage in order to improve the product. Google may process related data under its own privacy policy; see Google's Privacy Policy. You may opt out via the Google Analytics Opt-out Add-on.
- Infrastructure and traffic analytics (Cloudflare): we use Cloudflare to host the website and provide basic traffic analytics and security protection.
- Infrastructure providers (such as the email delivery service Resend): used to send verification codes / notification emails.
- Legal requirements: when required by applicable laws and regulations.
4. Data Storage and Security
- Data is stored on protected servers (Cloudflare infrastructure).
- We take reasonable technical and administrative measures to protect your information, but cannot guarantee absolute security.
5. Your Rights
You may:
- View and update your learning data
- Request deletion of your account and related data (contact [email protected])
- Unsubscribe from marketing/notification emails (each email contains an unsubscribe link)
6. Children's Privacy
This service is intended for adult Japanese-language learners. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
7. Cookies and Local Storage
We use cookies and browser local storage to keep you logged in and remember preferences such as theme. In addition, Google Analytics uses cookies to collect anonymous usage statistics. You can manage or disable cookies in your browser settings, or use the Google Analytics opt-out add-on mentioned in Section 3.
