How to prepare for the BJT

Good BJT prep starts from the target score and works backward. The goal is not to memorize isolated vocabulary, but to recognize business intent quickly and choose the best response under time pressure.

Start With Diagnosis

Use practice questions to find whether your weak point is listening, reading speed, keigo, business vocabulary, or situation judgment. Train the weakest category first.

Build Business Context

For each question, ask what relationship, company situation, request, apology, or negotiation is happening. BJT answers often depend on context rather than a single word.

Practice in Timed Sets

Short daily timed sets are better than occasional long sessions. Review every mistake and write down why the correct answer fits the business situation.

FAQ

How long does BJT prep take?
It depends on your starting level and target score. Learners with strong general Japanese often need focused business-context practice rather than months of grammar review.
Should I study keigo for the BJT?
Yes. Keigo is important, but it should be learned together with business situations, not as isolated honorific forms.
